Research area

Fluid Mechanics and Heat Transfer

The Fluid Mechanics and Heat Transfer area has an important impact on energy related issues. The area has a Laboratory for Fluid Dynamics and Processes, a Laboratory for Advanced Studies in Nonlinear Phenomena, and a Combustion Laboratory. In them, fluid flow and heat transfer phenomena are studied both from the point of view of physics and engineering applications. Phenomena such as vortex generation, combustion, forced and natural convection and fluid-structure interaction, which have generated a wide series of publications.
